Violin Camilli, 1743

Hand-made by Camillo Camilli of Mantua in 1743, who was greatly influenced by the work of Pietro Guarneri.

Special features: the back is in one piece of maple cut on the slab and with faint, irregular flames of medium width; the sides are also faintly figured; the scroll plain; the table in two pieces of spruce with narrow grain at the centre, broadening towards the flanks; the varnish is of an orange amber brown colour.

This violin is a very fine and characteristic example of the maker’s work.
We were lucky to purchase this fine violin in 2010.

Jumpstart Jr Talent Cecilia Bernardini has been playing this wonderful instrument with a lot of pride and joy since 2010, in concerts at the most beautiful venues around the world, recently in China.
