Zefira is currently living in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Only 5 years old, Zefira started her musical career in Bulgaria. In 2001 she graduated at the National School of Music in Sofia, but continued her studies and in 2006 she obtained her Master’s Degree at the National Music Academy, Sofia. She got interested in Baroque music and studied with Anton Steck and joined Lucy van Dael’s class at the Amsterdam Conservatorium.
She has participated in numerous violin masterclasses and summer courses, and has been awarded at many national (Bulgarian) and international competitions, such as the Baroque Musik Academy – Blankenburg, Germany.
In the Netherlands, Zefira participated as Concertmaster in projects of the National Youth Orchestra, and with Ton Koopmans in 2010. Not restricted to the Netherlands, of course, she performs as a soloist or concertmaster throughout Europe; at the Festival de Musica Antiga in Barcelona and the Sofia Baroque Arts Festival, for example.
Zefira is co-founder and member of Ars Barocco, member of the consort for early music Concerto Antico and a respected member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra.
Zefira has been playing the Carcassi violin since 2009.
