Vadym Makarenko is a violinist originally from Ukraine currently based in Madrid, Spain. He studied at Glier’s Kiev Institute of Musik and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s in modern violin.
It was in 2011 when Vadym made his first contact with Historically Informed Performance Practice, which would completely change his future. He studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under the tutorship of Amandine Beyer. After receiving both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Musical Performance, Vadym embarks his second master’s degree in Specialized Musical Performance of the Romantic Period, which he finishes in 2018.
Vadym performs actively in the concerts and recordings of groups like, Gli Incogniti, his violin duo with Amandine Beyer and Collegium 1704. He is frequently invited as a soloist in various ensembles around Europe including Tiento Nuevo and La Guirlande.
After founding his own ensemble in 2018 Infermi d’Amore and collaborating in musicological research with Olivier Foures, Vadym is preparing his first solo recording focused on the Venetian unpublished violin concertos, having successfully launched a crowdfunding for that.
