Sophie plays the Brothers Amati violin as the first winner of the Jumpstart Jr. Sparey Encouragement Award.
She writes: This violin has such a wonderful sound: rich, well-balanced, and with so much resonance! It is very inspiring and moving for me to be able to play it. And when I think about its birth in the hands of the Brothers Amati in Cremona, in 1596, I feel even more grateful! It is highly probable that Corelli’s sonatas were played on this violin more than 300 years ago. What a feeling it is for me to play the same sonatas on this unique violin!
